On Tuesday the rugby 7's team had tournament at Pakuranga rugby club and during the tournament it was quite challenging and fun. The first game we won 4-1 against botany downs. The second game was against star of the sea and we won 4-0. Our third game was the most challenging and we tied 3 all. Our fourth game we won 5-1. Our fifth game we lost 4-3 to them but they had someone who was year five and he was about 5 feet tall. Our sixth game we smashed up 10-0 but two of our tries apparently didn't count.

Flash floods have killed five people in south-east Queensland when their cars were swept away following a rain storm on Australia's east coast, police say.The dead included three men, one woman and a eight-year-old boy, while more than 30 other people were rescued from cars stranded on flooded roads in and around Caboodle, 44 kilometers north of Brisbane."The tragedy is that people are still taking risks in order to try and get through," Queensland police inspector Lee Jeffries told local media.The storm struck Brisbane at peak hour traffic, causing chaos, before moving south to the Gold Coast and weakening towards northern New South Wales.Rescue crews pulled seven people from floodwater's in one incident north of Brisbane and were on their way to at least half a dozen more rescues.Tauranga woman Hope Lawsen has been in Brisbane visiting family for a week, and was caught in the deluge on Friday.

Royal Family Welcome Princess
Congratulations William, Kate and George!
The royal baby has finally arrived – and it’s a girl! The second child born to Prince William and Catherine. She was born at 8:34 am on May 2nd, 2015. Thousands of people gathered outside Buckingham Palace to catch a glimpse of the official birth announcement on display and also outside St Mary’s Hospital in London where the baby was born.The Princess weighed 3.7kg and both she and her mother are doing well. Many waited outside for the first glimpse of the newest member of the royal family and it is believed that some people have camped outside for over 2 weeks! Prince William left the hospital briefly and returned from Kensington Palace with his son, Prince George. The young prince drew a lot of applause from the waiting public as he waved along with his father before entering the hospital to meet his new sister. The family have now returned home to Kensington Palace with the new princess and so far no name has been announced. By Sydney and Caitlin

Nepal suffers after huge earthquake

A 7.8-magnitude earthquake struck an area of central Nepal between Kathmandu and the city of Pokhara early on Saturday and is reported to have killed some 2,500 people.
Many residents of the capital, Kathmandu, lost their homes as a result of the tremor and others are afraid to return home.
It is estimated that hundreds of thousands of people in central Nepal are spending a second night outdoors in tents and any other shelter they can find.
Efforts to dig victims out from under the rubble of collapsed buildings in Kathmandu continues and aid is arriving to help the country cope with the aftermath of the worst earthquake to hit Nepal for more than 80 years.
A powerful aftershock was felt on Sunday in Nepal, India and Bangladesh, and more avalanches were reported near Everest.
The 6.7-magnitude tremor, centred 60km east of Nepal’s capital Kathmandu, sent people running in panic for open ground in the city. It brought down some houses that had been damaged in the initial quake.
At hospitals rattled by the aftershocks, staff moved sick and injured patients outside. Doctors at Kathmandu Medical College set up an operating theatre inside a tent.
The tremor also unleashed avalanches on Mount Everest, which killed at least 17 people and injured 61 others.
Foreign climbers and their Nepalese guides around Mt Everest were caught by the tremors and a huge avalanche that buried part of the base camp in snow.
Pemba Sherpa, who was among the first group of survivors were flown to Kathmandu on Sunday, said he was resting in his tent when the quake hit.
“I heard a big noise and the next thing I know I was swept away by the snow. I must have been swept almost 200 metres. I lost consciousness.”
He said many people are still missing on the mountain as several tents were buried by the snow or blown away.

She was very cute! we all made projects for her to help her learn more Maori we all got a topic in our table groups my group did Vehicles and Ohanna's group did names and body parts of animals! It was tonnes of fun! Unfortunately she only came between 9.45-10.30 :(

Furious! One cold morning at my warm comfortable home. My Brother and I were having a humongous fight with great force in the cosy, warm lounge.
“Oh-no” I said as I fell back onto the ground. All of a sudden the big lamp I landed on smashed to the ground, it was broken!!! When I looked at Charlie my brother of course he was singing loudly “Bella you're in trouble hahahaha!” I felt so angry at my brother because he pushed me into the lamp I just wanted to shout “Ahh, im going to kill you!”
Mum and Dad were shrieking at me with a face of ianger. While they were telling me off for breaking the big lamp I looked at Charlie with a sneaky look thinking you little poo as he was giggling away at me!!!
Now i'm grounded all because of my mean little brother Charlie, that means no iphone, no texting and no facetime or calling “Isn't that the worst thing that could ever happen!”
“All there’s left to do is scream at my mean, annoying little brother Charlie!” “Why did you have to do this Charlie?” (You're going to be dead meat next time Charlie!)

W.A.L.T Germination
Beaker 3 : Our beaker needs boiled water that has been cooled down ( filled to the top) and sat in a warm place
Prediction: I think that our seeds will not germinate and maybe even drowned!

- We have gone to the staff room to get the boiling water from the zip and now we are waiting for it to cool down!!!

-The water has cooled down so we have filled up our beaker with the cold boiled water all the way to the top. Now we have placed it on the windowsill which will give it sun!

-We have gone to the staff room to add more boiled water to our beaker. Our seeds have slowly started to germinate with one seed sprouted with small rocket leaves on it! (YAY!) Hopefully it keeps growing!

-Today we have decided that it was a enough of science with our beakers and it was time to do something else so we decided to plant beaker 1 in the staff room courtyard to see if it will carry on germinating!
Yesterday some year 5 students went to eye on nature here are 2 stories about eye on nature!!!
Eye On Nature!!!
As the water dripped off the bright red bus we all piled out on to the soggy wet grass! It was time for the eco environment trip to the lovely Botanical gardens! The mud covered up our shoes as we stomped towards the the plain white tent. It was so cold and everyone was wearing their cozy, fluffy, silky jumpers. Then out of nowhere the ranger Ana popped out. She told us that we were about to go on a big adventure! As we walked through the damp forest the leaves dripped with water and landed on the moist brown bark. All of a sudden STOP...look a model of a giant fantail wow! Ana started to explain that the fantail was a really fast zippy bird that loved to eat insects and grubs...gross! Next we saw the huge tui sipping some nectar from the dark colored flax bush. Ana told us that the beautiful blue tui had a long bumpy tongue so it could suck up the nectar from the flax bush. After the tui we went to see the special New Zealand Wood Pigeon, Ana said that the wood pigeon loved to eat berries from trees and they also liked to fly around with their vast wings!!! Last but not least we went to see the nocturnal morepork. The friendly owl went to bed when the sun was up and woke up when the stars twinkled. My favourite part of our eco environment trip was the maze! We had to find clues to make the word and then work out the word it was really hard but fun. Once we found all the clues we had to find our way back to the exit, but there was only one problem how do you get back it so tough people were playing maze tag and running around like little hyper children!!! It was so much fun on our eco environment trip to the lovely Botanical Gardens now I know all about our amazing nature in our clean world and how to keep our world clean!!! By Isabella 5c Term 1

Apple haven’t updated the original MacBook but they have finally done some amazing upgrades such as the new keyboard and force touch trackpad. With it’s thin and light design, how will it fit the logic board and fans? Well I can tell you the got rid of the fans and shrunk the logic board to a tiny size, amazing and wait, battery life. South African woman, Georgina Harwood has just turned 100 and she celebrated with a skydive and swimming with sharks!
This gutsy grandma was watched by her family and friends as she took to the sky over Cape Town. This isn't Georgina’s first skydive – she is a bit of an adrenaline junky!
Her next adventure will be a shark dive where she will be locked in a cage and dropped into the ocean where she will feed the sharks.
This woman is braver than most! Way to go, Georgina, and Happy Birthday!

Hi we are Levi and Oli your wiki ninjas for Monday (yaaa!) by Oli This is the new apple watch that's coming out in April. There are three types of apple watches, Sport, Edition and Normal.
On Friday we had a LONG assembly. We did a GoNoodle dance, it was called beauty and the beat. Finally the school councillors got their shiny badges. They shined like diamonds in the sun. Our class councillors are Levi and Abigail.

. Mrs Samuel's class did a play and a go noodle routine. One of our class mates got a pen from her pc awards her name was Nadine. The class councillors got their badges to proof they were class councillors,from our class it was Levi and Abigail.

Last week we went to Outdoor Education we wrote some Recounts that we would like to share with you!
(we went to Eastern's beach on one day and Totara park on another) Totara Park Yesterday the 24th of Feb 2015 Mrs Samuel ‘s class ( my class ) and Mrs Dales class went out for a trip to eastern beach . Here’s how it started . Everybody reached school at 8:15. We got our name tags and lined up ,we walked onto the long bus. Vroooom Vroooom, the bus started and off we went.It felt like eternity on the bus ,but we finally reached I was so pumped up when we reached, but we ate some food before we did anything. When everyone finished we lined up in four different groups, 1,2,3 and 4. I was in group 3. There were 2 instructors telling us where to go. Group 1 was doing kayaking group 2 was novelty games group 3 was cooking and group 4 was tent pitching (and taking down).I was in group 3, we started off with cooking, as I told you. There were instructors telling us how to cook.First the ingredients;Eggs, flour, milk carried on. Put all the powders in a large bowl and mix a tiny bit. Then get the egg and milk in the smaller bowl,and mix. Slowly pour the the small bowl mixture into the big one while mixing ,then pour the mixture you just made and put it on the stove of whatever you are using, wait for it to bubble, then take a look at the bottom of the pikelet (pancake) if it is goldish then flip it. After when finished add sauces (if wanted ) mmmm yum Then we went on to tent pitching, we learnt how to pitch a tent (and un pitch one). With pegs and stretching it to put pegs in, and getting this long metal stick and plug them into this thing on the tent.Then you lift it. There tent made.Next was kayaking we learnt how to use paddles. How to move forward backwards left and right and how to stop. We got in the water , at first it was hard, but then I got the hang of it.

“Ahhh ahhh i can’t see ahh what’s i think i’m going to crash in to a tree”.”Don’t worry” said Stephaine . What’s that i hear ,a tui oh sorry not a that”. “I think I’M going to crash in totui but lot’s of them .I hear the mamma bird tweeting to her chicks. Tweet tweet!. They sounded so cute. As soon i took off the blindfold, i could just see the baby chicks shadow in the sunlight. I saw the trees waving at me . All the fresh,cold wind blowing through my gold blond hair . After that we went for a bush walk.But it wasn't any old bush walk . It was more like we're in so much pain, especially when I nearly fell over because my legs were so sore. I wonder what the next activity is? I remember it’s novelty games. First we played netball. It was thing is that the other team won. After that game we played was noddle soccer, you had to get your self into two groups of two. A parent gave you a number from one to seven. It was my favorite number three and Scarlet was number three on the other side. So if the parent called out number three to me and Scarlet would run around the net and grab the noodle and start to hit the ball with the noodle, but scarlet won. Finally the funinst bit of all archery.First I was scared because it was a real bow and arrow. I had know idea how to use one. Then I wasn't scared of it any more I know how to use a bow and arrow. We were finally on the way back to school then my mum came and picked me up from school. As soon as I got home I fall asleep on my huge red beanbag. really cool! But the annoying

Boeing rolls out 777 upgrade plan
Boeing has been working hard to make a upgrade plan for the 777 long before the 777X comes out at the end of the decade for the 777 to last until time.
the plan, initially revealed in January will be aimed at improving a 2% fuel burn savings in baseline performance and a capacity upgrade in the sense of space saving lavatories. The 777 will have a push to the potential fuel burn saving to a stunning 5% over the current 777-300ER by late 2016.
Now to Airbus!

We didn’t go to maths in the morning, because Mrs. Rogers, and Mr. Procter’s class went to Eastern Beach, Mrs. Samuel, and Mrs. Dale’s class is going tomorrow, Tuesday.This week we are starting to publish our Autobiographies, an Autobiography is a detailed recount about you, but it consists of 5 paragraphs, an introduction, who you are in life, what life means to you, what is your outlook on the future, and last but not least, a conclusion to sum it all up! Autobiographies have been written since A.D. 400, from an early christian leader called Saint Augustine.

In 5C we have been learning about how to keep ourselves safe. Part of this unit is about abuse. There is all kind of abuse.
One of the types of abuse is Cyber abuse which is online. You need to be aware of fake profiles online and people you don’t know talking to you or asking you to meet up. It is important to stay safe online. You can do this by not putting your first name and last name online and not your birthday date either. It is not a good idea to share your address or phone number online for the whole world to see. Also don't talk to random people and don't post inappropriate photos and images.

Hi we are back again from last week and we are Daniel and Brooklyn and were your wiki ninjas today.

The first game we won 4-1 against botany downs. The second game was against star of the sea and we won 4-0. Our third game was the most challenging and we tied 3 all. Our fourth game we won 5-1. Our fifth game we lost 4-3 to them but they had someone who was year five and he was about 5 feet tall. Our sixth game we smashed up 10-0 but two of our tries apparently didn't count.

Congratulations William, Kate and George!
The royal baby has finally arrived – and it’s a girl! The second child born to Prince William and Catherine. She was born at 8:34 am on May 2nd, 2015. Thousands of people gathered outside Buckingham Palace to catch a glimpse of the official birth announcement on display and also outside St Mary’s Hospital in London where the baby was born.The Princess weighed 3.7kg and both she and her mother are doing well. Many waited outside for the first glimpse of the newest member of the royal family and it is believed that some people have camped outside for over 2 weeks! Prince William left the hospital briefly and returned from Kensington Palace with his son, Prince George. The young prince drew a lot of applause from the waiting public as he waved along with his father before entering the hospital to meet his new sister. Created on April 28, 2015A 7.8-magnitude earthquake struck an area of central Nepal between Kathmandu and the city of Pokhara early on Saturday and is reported to have killed some 2,500 people.
Many residents of the capital, Kathmandu, lost their homes as a result of the tremor and others are afraid to return home.
It is estimated that hundreds of thousands of people in central Nepal are spending a second night outdoors in tents and any other shelter they can find.
Efforts to dig victims out from under the rubble of collapsed buildings in Kathmandu continues and aid is arriving to help the country cope with the aftermath of the worst earthquake to hit Nepal for more than 80 years.
A powerful aftershock was felt on Sunday in Nepal, India and Bangladesh, and more avalanches were reported near Everest.
The 6.7-magnitude tremor, centred 60km east of Nepal’s capital Kathmandu, sent people running in panic for open ground in the city. It brought down some houses that had been damaged in the initial quake.
At hospitals rattled by the aftershocks, staff moved sick and injured patients outside. Doctors at Kathmandu Medical College set up an operating theatre inside a tent.
The tremor also unleashed avalanches on Mount Everest, which killed at least 17 people and injured 61 others.
Foreign climbers and their Nepalese guides around Mt Everest were caught by the tremors and a huge avalanche that buried part of the base camp in snow.
Pemba Sherpa, who was among the first group of survivors were flown to Kathmandu on Sunday, said he was resting in his tent when the quake hit.
“I heard a big noise and the next thing I know I was swept away by the snow. I must have been swept almost 200 metres. I lost consciousness.”
He said many people are still missing on the mountain as several tents were buried by the snow or blown away.

Furious!
One cold morning at my warm comfortable home. My Brother and I were having a humongous fight with great force in the cosy, warm lounge.
“Oh-no” I said as I fell back onto the ground. All of a sudden the big lamp I landed on smashed to the ground, it was broken!!! When I looked at Charlie my brother of course he was singing loudly “Bella you're in trouble hahahaha!” I felt so angry at my brother because he pushed me into the lamp I just wanted to shout “Ahh, im going to kill you!”
Mum and Dad were shrieking at me with a face of ianger. While they were telling me off for breaking the big lamp I looked at Charlie with a sneaky look thinking you little poo as he was giggling away at me!!!
Now i'm grounded all because of my mean little brother Charlie, that means no iphone, no texting and no facetime or calling “Isn't that the worst thing that could ever happen!”
“All there’s left to do is scream at my mean, annoying little brother Charlie!” “Why did you have to do this Charlie?” (You're going to be dead meat next time Charlie!)

W.A.L.T Germination
Beaker 3 : Our beaker needs boiled water that has been cooled down ( filled to the top) and sat in a warm place
Prediction: I think that our seeds will not germinate and maybe even drowned!

- We have gone to the staff room to get the boiling water from the zip and now we are waiting for it to cool down!!!

-The water has cooled down so we have filled up our beaker with the cold boiled water all the way to the top. Now we have placed it on the windowsill which will give it sun!

-We have gone to the staff room to add more boiled water to our beaker. Our seeds have slowly started to germinate with one seed sprouted with small rocket leaves on it! (YAY!) Hopefully it keeps growing!

-Today we have decided that it was a enough of science with our beakers and it was time to do something else so we decided to plant beaker 1 in the staff room courtyard to see if it will carry on germinating!
Yesterday some year 5 students went to eye on nature here are 2 stories about eye on nature!!!
Eye On Nature!!!
As the water dripped off the bright red bus we all piled out on to the soggy wet grass! It was time for the eco environment trip to the lovely Botanical gardens!
The mud covered up our shoes as we stomped towards the the plain white tent. It was so cold and everyone was wearing their cozy, fluffy, silky jumpers. Then out of nowhere the ranger Ana popped out. She told us that we were about to go on a big adventure!
As we walked through the damp forest the leaves dripped with water and landed on the moist brown bark. All of a sudden STOP...look a model of a giant fantail wow! Ana started to explain that the fantail was a really fast zippy bird that loved to eat insects and grubs...gross!
Next we saw the huge tui sipping some nectar from the dark colored flax bush. Ana told us that the beautiful blue tui had a long bumpy tongue so it could suck up the nectar from the flax bush.
After the tui we went to see the special New Zealand Wood Pigeon, Ana said that the wood pigeon loved to eat berries from trees and they also liked to fly around with their vast wings!!!
Last but not least we went to see the nocturnal morepork. The friendly owl went to bed when the sun was up and woke up when the stars twinkled.
My favourite part of our eco environment trip was the maze! We had to find clues to make the word and then work out the word it was really hard but fun. Once we found all the clues we had to find our way back to the exit, but there was only one problem how do you get back it so tough people were playing maze tag and running around like little hyper children!!!
It was so much fun on our eco environment trip to the lovely Botanical Gardens now I know all about our amazing nature in our clean world and how to keep our world clean!!!

Apple haven’t updated the original MacBook but they have finally done some amazing upgrades such as the new keyboard and force touch trackpad. With it’s thin and light design, how will it fit the logic board and fans? Well I can tell you the got rid of the fans and shrunk the logic board to a tiny size, amazing and wait, battery life. South African woman, Georgina Harwood has just turned 100 and she celebrated with a skydive and swimming with sharks!
This gutsy grandma was watched by her family and friends as she took to the sky over Cape Town. This isn't Georgina’s first skydive – she is a bit of an adrenaline junky!
Her next adventure will be a shark dive where she will be locked in a cage and dropped into the ocean where she will feed the sharks.
This woman is braver than most! Way to go, Georgina, and Happy Birthday!

On Friday we had a LONG assembly. We did a GoNoodle dance, it was called beauty and the beat. Finally the school councillors got their shiny badges. They shined like diamonds in the sun. Our class councillors are Levi and Abigail.
We did some art with Mrs Murray. We did lizard art and put some features to make it look realistic. We are going to ask some of the class what they think about doing art at school. by Oli

. Mrs Samuel's class did a play and a go noodle routine. One of our class mates got a pen from her pc awards her name was Nadine. The class councillors got their badges to proof they were class councillors,from our class it was Levi and Abigail.

Last week we went to Outdoor Education we wrote some Recounts that we would like to share with you!(we went to Eastern's beach on one day and Totara park on another)
Totara Park
Yesterday the 24th of Feb 2015 Mrs Samuel ‘s class ( my class ) and Mrs Dales class went out for a trip to eastern beach . Here’s how it started . Everybody reached school at 8:15. We got our name tags and lined up ,we walked onto the long bus. Vroooom Vroooom, the bus started and off we went.It felt like eternity on the bus ,but we finally reached
I was so pumped up when we reached, but we ate some food before we did anything. When everyone finished we lined up in four different groups, 1,2,3 and 4. I was in group 3. There were 2 instructors telling us where to go. Group 1 was doing kayaking group 2 was novelty games group 3 was cooking and group 4 was tent pitching (and taking down).I was in group 3, we started off with cooking, as I told you. There were instructors telling us how to cook.First the ingredients;Eggs, flour, milk carried on. Put all the powders in a large bowl and mix a tiny bit. Then get the egg and milk in the smaller bowl,and mix. Slowly pour the the small bowl mixture into the big one while mixing ,then pour the mixture you just made and put it on the stove of whatever you are using, wait for it to bubble, then take a look at the bottom of the pikelet (pancake) if it is goldish then flip it. After when finished add sauces (if wanted ) mmmm yum
Then we went on to tent pitching, we learnt how to pitch a tent (and un pitch one). With pegs and stretching it to put pegs in, and getting this long metal stick and plug them into this thing on the tent.Then you lift it. There tent made.Next was kayaking we learnt how to use paddles. How to move forward backwards left and right and how to stop. We got in the water , at first it was hard, but then I got the hang of it.
Eastern Beach
“Ahhh ahhh i can’t see ahh
what’s i think i’m going to crash in to a tree”.”Don’t worry” said Stephaine . What’s that i hear ,a tui oh sorry not a that”. “I think I’M going to crash in totui but lot’s of them .I hear the mamma bird tweeting to her chicks. Tweet tweet!. They sounded so cute. As soon i took off the blindfold, i could just see the baby chicks shadow in the sunlight. I saw the trees waving at me . All the fresh,cold wind blowing through my gold blond hair . After that we went for a bush walk.But it wasn't any old bush walk . It was more like we're in so much pain, especially when I nearly fell over because my legs were so sore. I wonder what the next activity is? I remember it’s novelty games. First we played netball. It was thing is that the other team won. After that game we played was noddle soccer, you had to get your self into two groups of two. A parent gave you a number from one to seven. It was my favorite number three and Scarlet was number three on the other side. So if the parent called out number three to me and Scarlet would run around the net and grab the noodle and start to hit the ball with the noodle, but scarlet won. Finally the funinst bit of all archery.First I was scared because it was a real bow and arrow. I had know idea how to use one. Then I wasn't scared of it any more I know how to use a bow and arrow. We were finally on the way back to school then my mum came and picked me up from school. As soon as I got home I fall asleep on my huge red beanbag. really cool! But the annoying

Boeing rolls out 777 upgrade plan
Boeing has been working hard to make a upgrade plan for the 777 long before the 777X comes out at the end of the decade for the 777 to last until time.the plan, initially revealed in January will be aimed at improving a 2% fuel burn savings in baseline performance and a capacity upgrade in the sense of space saving lavatories. The 777 will have a push to the potential fuel burn saving to a stunning 5% over the current 777-300ER by late 2016.

We didn’t go to maths in the morning, because Mrs. Rogers, and Mr. Procter’s class went to Eastern Beach, Mrs. Samuel, and Mrs. Dale’s class is going tomorrow, Tuesday.This week we are starting to publish our Autobiographies, an Autobiography is a detailed recount about you, but it consists of 5 paragraphs, an introduction, who you are in life, what life means to you, what is your outlook on the future, and last but not least, a conclusion to sum it all up! Autobiographies have been written since A.D. 400, from an early christian leader called Saint Augustine.

In 5C we have been learning about how to keep ourselves safe. Part of this unit is about abuse. There is all kind of abuse.One of the types of abuse is Cyber abuse which is online. You need to be aware of fake profiles online and people you don’t know talking to you or asking you to meet up. It is important to stay safe online. You can do this by not putting your first name and last name online and not your birthday date either. It is not a good idea to share your address or phone number online for the whole world to see. Also don't talk to random people and don't post inappropriate photos and images.
